Hey,

Me and this guy I met are going to do a motor bike trip across SEA, think Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos etc.

I did a motorbike trip across Vietnam with a 110 Honda Wing motorbike, however is it possible to do it on a scooter? As I'm lazy doing manual.

Anyone with experience, please provide the pros and cons to each. For what I can think of motorbikes are more comfortable to ride for long durations.

Appreciate anyones help

Yeah I did it on a piece of shit scooter that kept breaking down. Totally achievable just buy a better one than I did.

Motorbike Pros:

Looks cool, sounds cool, probably more fuel efficient at high speed idk, goes fast

Motorbike Cons:

More expensive, manual in Vietnamese traffic seems like a nightmare, too easy to go too fast and wrap yourself around a truck

Scooter Pros:

It goes, its cheap, lots of storage under the seat, fully automatic is sweet,

Scooter Cons:

Hard to impress people with pics of you driving around the country on a Fabio

How dangerous is it to drive over there?

honda supercubs might be a nice middle ground. 70cc with gears but no clutch. it's basically a semi-automatic.
