Damn, they’re going down

[–] Venous-Roland@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ah they'll be fine, will still finish closer to mid-table than the bottom.

[–] karnnumart@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They're not being punished because you spend too much. They're punished because they did not spend enough.

[–] HerofromAliahan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Guess Man City have the better lawyers!!

[–] Fanboy8057@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Juventus 🤝 Everton

[–] frodo5454@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Chelsea supporter here - suck my cock.

[–] CircleTheFire@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If they do end up going down, yikes. It’s easy and fine to meme on them as rivals, but they would be terrible for the city of Liverpool.

[–] alw9@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

joke league

[–] CNF-13@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

A certain club has 115 charges I’m guessing the get chucked in the national league or?

[–] The-One-Man-Riot@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Cities trophies need handing down to Liverpool & arsenal and taken to the conference.

Chelsea the same!

Always scousers who get punished

[–] dreamingawake09@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Everton will get out of the relegation zone. They're playing significantly better than the true bottom 3 and feel like they've finally turned the corner as a team.

[–] Cvein@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The Premier League has just opened the biggest can of worms I’ve ever seen.

Should make it familiar for Sean Dyche.

[–] IndyFiveHunnit@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Meanwhile City…

[–] Nyushi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Very lucky for Everton that the bottom of the league is absolutely woeful this year. They'll probably still survive relegation.

[–] bananarama03@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Thankfully Everton actually look decent this season and the rest of the bottom 4 are absolute dross so they should still stay up

[–] Forest_Forest@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They can count themselves lucky they got charged this season and not last season. Not sure what all the sympathy for them is about. They cheated and got punished.

City likely haven't been punished yet because a case with over 100 charges is going to a lot more complicated, and I can imagine City's team of lawyers are making it easy either.

[–] Green117v2@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If this had happened during the last few seasons, Everton would be a Championship club right now. Thankfully for them and despite the points deduction, there are far worse teams heading for the drop.

[–] MikeOchertz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If the rules applied to everyone, City would be relegated to League 2 in 1984

[–] Mets_BS@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The premier League is gone BTW, 6 clubs tried to force a hostile takeover of the entire English football system and got fines.

[–] ubiquitous_archer@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They better throw the fucking book at city, or I'm burning down the premier league HQ

Without having read the article or caring too much, how did Everton get deducted before City? Worse lawyers?

[–] MrAchilles@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

4 points 💀

[–] PDubsinTF-NEW@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What about Man City and Chelsea?

[–] WhatEvenisEverton@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not many Man City flares in here I see, shocking, that.

[–] toluwalase@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe because this is about Everton?

[–] legixs@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
[–] MiggeldyMackDaddy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Lads we want ye gone, but ye keep surviving, so here ye go.

[–] Thellamaking21@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

No way in hell city actually loses points. Those lawyers are going to be heading into overdrive

[–] Odd_Bitt@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Better get popcorn for the next allegations to get judged then

[–] jnce12@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Would’ve really appreciated this 6 months ago instead of now :/

[–] Iswaterreallywet@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Didn’t know this was about Manchester City, the club the im told no one here cares about.

[–] MereGuest@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Man City watchers in their sub seem to be convinced that Everton’s spending above what they are organically capable of seems to be different from City’s 13 years of spending more than what they are organically capable of.

That 100m a year sponsorship from a PO Box in slough? Registered to Etihad fish and chips? Don’t worry about it mate. That makes it legit.

[–] S-BRO@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is over A £19.5m overspend.

Wait, wait......wait!

I need to get popcorn.

[–] Bill3ffinMurray@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Though I understand the immediate comparisons to City, at least in terms of how quickly this happened, I think they're a bit misguided.

City face 115 charges and proving their guilt in all of those charges is paramount and, not to mention, very time consuming.

Now will the Prem actually do anything about City? No,I don't think they will.

[–] InMyFavor@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This is a clown show if City and Chelsea are allowed to continue without points deduction.

[–] Wide_Challenge3880@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think they’ve actually gotten away with it.

The standard at the bottom is so low and Everton are actually a decent team this year they should e fine.

Lucky it happened when they’ve got Dyche for a full 38 games and not Lampard

[–] Bey_Harbor_Butcher@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If they don't deduct points from City, then this shit is totally rigged.

[–] KnightofBiscuit@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The corruptness of the PL is in plain sight. A travesty for Everton fans when City and Chelsea benefit with no punishment.

[–] 16intheclip@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Moral of the story: Do not cooperate with the FA or any other organisation, threaten them with lawsuits and act as if you've done nothing wrong.

[–] BDR529forlyfe@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Now do City! Now do City!

[–] MrDarwoo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Man city must be shitting it

[–] GoldenGodd94@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Man City never docked anything....

[–] NoUsernamesss@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What about City? Over a year the breaches against them came out and nothing happens. Are they getting special treatment because they’re the golden child in PL now?

This is the second point deduction this year. First was Liverpool.

[–] TMyriadJ@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

In the middle of the season? No way!

[–] No_Can9567@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

So Everton get 10 points deducted while city have 115 FFP violations and get fuck all?!

[–] RandomSher@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Everton surely can’t be the only clubs. They needs to hire same accountants as Chelsea and Man City.

[–] scootsy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

FFP is dumb and just a tool (that big clubs love btw) to keeps the small clubs small.
