So after months of building on my product, I'm ready to do a proper launch.

I've been refining my product with the help of beta users, and I think I'm finally ready to open the floodgates.

For my launch, I'm planning to launch to my email list of 8k contacts (+ social media, but that's negligible as my following is smaller there).

I've been warming them up, and so far I've already did a pre-launch survey to gauge interest, and the response has been pretty good and supportive.

I'm wondering if I should launch on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

The way I see it:

Black Friday

  • Pro: People haven't had purchase fatigue yet.
  • Pro: It's the #1 shopping day of the year, people are in a buying mood.
  • Con: Everyone else is also vying for attention on BF. Too much noise.
  • Con: People might not be online/at their computers.
  • Con: It's over the weekend, I want to have time off too, but if I launch then, I'll have to watch over it like a hawk and say goodbye to my own Black Friday weekend.

Cyber Monday

  • Pro: Fewer other offers vying for their attention.
  • Pro: People are actually online/at the computer, usually at home or at work.
  • Pro: I can be at my desk to do damage control, if anything breaks during my launch/open cart day.
  • Con: People might have been fatigued by now.

What should I do?

Launch it right now brotha. In fact you should've launched it last year

Personally i wouldn’t launch a product on Black Friday or cyber Monday. The precedent for those occasions is discounted products and without an existing brand that’s been recognised, I would assume that I would be diluting the impact of my product among the sea of sales.

Give your product the launch it deserves in a time period where lots of other brands aren’t looking for the attention of customers. Also your warmed audience will probably get a flurry of marketing emails and they could rapidly lose your launch announcement through that.

I'd "soft" launch it now so that you can work out any last minute bugs before BF/CM...nothing worse than discovering a bug during a big launch day.

Launch as soon as you can.

After launch you will probably learn a few things that you will affect and should change your product going forward, then adjust, and if necessary pivot - then launch as soon as you can again.

This isn't a "launch" launch, it's more like a limited-time deal.

I appreciate the advice, but it doesn't seem geared for my specific situation.
