If I remember correctly this is the lowest rated episode of the series on IMBD. I loved it personally. Giving them Australian accents was hilarious.

Who cares about imdb ratings, this episode was fantastic. If anything it was better than almost anything that came after season 18.
I fucking hate this episode, being my least favorite episode, I can't believe how iconic it really is.

I always assumed this episode exists because they ran out of time to finish the animation for a full episode, so just spent half the show with the camera focused on Oprah's crotch, which is effectively one frame of animation.
Kind of true really. They were originally going to do an episode in the style of ‘Intervention’ with the townspeople of South Park trying to get Towelie off drugs. I assume when they finally did it in Season 14 it was reused animation? Because I think they said they had already animated some scenes, and they realized then and said “Wow. We have nowhere to go with this!”
So they very quickly reworked the whole episode in a short amount of time (even shorter than they usually have to make an episode).
