Some of you might remember my previous post in this subreddit. In a nutshell, I've created a website that generates AI-powered background images, somewhat like Unsplash, and it's available for free to anyone. It's incredibly simple to use.

I create a few images each day using Midjourney and select the best ones to share on the website. After posting in a few communities, the feedback has been mostly positive, and many people have shown interest by joining the newsletter.Though monetization is still a ways off, if I want to start making a profit from it in the next three months or so, what should I do?

I've had a few unsuccessful SaaS experiences and have mainly worked as a freelance designer, so I'm pretty clueless about how to monetize a website or blog. I'd greatly appreciate any advice you can offer!

I think offering a generous portion of the pics for free and then having a premium tier could work. Maybe you can add the ability for x requests/month for premium, where you specifically generate themes they may need. I think it would need to be a low-cost yearly sub to make sense. You would need a huge collection of pics at that point though

Maybe build an iOS app out of it and focus on phone screen sizes. Then monetize it with ads. But that market is saturated probably.

Ads in the newsletter, ads on the site. Users can join a membership for an ad free experience and other perks.

Expand the brand beyond just wallpapers now.

Simply add a watermark and charge $0.99 (or more) to remove the watermark
