Hey nomads,

I purchased 2 Slate AX routers and am plugged one into my home router and the other one I will take with me. I setup the server and everything on that is working fine. Problem is, I just can't get the client to connect. I setup a port forward and have followed the steps and even hired someone to help me that couldn't figure it out. Does anyone know what may be wrong?

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Look into starvpn . I’ve used that many times for its “residential ip” . Speed is okay. To get work done, but joining meetings and getting audio working is a pain

What kind of speeds/latency is it providing? Just curious.

I actually got Star VPN! Just in case as a backup; thanks for the help

Honestly everything else is garbage , that’s the only reliable vpn that where you will not get caught because of residential IP, . I’ve tested that out all over Europe and Asia and I can garantuee you will not get caught. unless you have a home setup that’s also reliable

Could you try using Tailscale instead? It's simplified Wireguard and easier to use. No port forwarding!

  • What network(WiFi etc) are you trying to connect the client to?
  • Is it connecting to the network but not the VPN or neither?
  • did your IP change?
  • have you tried connecting using Wireguard App?

Connecting the client through Ethernet and it just gets stuck in a “starting up” boot loop

I also can’t get a static IP bc my ISP won’t provide it, so I setup a port forward

I will certainly look into the wireguard app! How could i use that to connect the client?

Thanks for the help brother

Connecting the client on the same network as your server runs on? That would probably be your problem.
