I currently live in the UK, working for a UK company as an employee on PAYE.

Next year, I need to move to Nigeria temporarily. My employer is open to this, but I'll be working for them as a contractor based out of Nigeria, and I'll be using a Nigerian Sole Proprietorship for this.

Given that popular payment platforms like Revolut and Wise do not support Nigerian businesses, I'm not sure how to handle payments.

Can my employer still pay me via a UK bank account, or do I need to open a different bank account to receive payments?

Most Nigerian freelancers apparently use Payoneer, but I don't know how reliable that platform is.

Can anyone advise?

Your employer can just continue paying to your UK bank account.

You currently live in the UK - you must have a UK bank account no? If so, then just receive payment there.

Fair enough.

So I can just send them an invoice, requesting for them to pay into my UK account. Then I deal with everything from there?

Thanks for responding.

Once the money is in the uk bank account then you can simply transfer it onto your Wise, Revolut or any other international bank account.
