This is bad. OpenAI was at least controlled by a non-profit. Microsoft will be full-on profitdriven.

Has anyone pondered why we should care about where these glorified bonobos get their annual $2M+ compensation from going forward?

I think the millions of people that use ChatGPT daily have a vested interest. Also what's the purpose of calling them glorified bonobos, these are some of the brightest and most world-class ML scientists and engineers there are. I don't see how calling them glorified apes is the response you come to here.
