I've read that this is how philips is forcing users into giving them access to even more data.

Upon reading the release notes, the only thing they added seems to be support for apple home kit. Does that require to lock me out of the app? Very fishy ...

Anyone else knows whays going on?

I also have a sonoff zigbee dongle and homeassistant as an alternative

Ditch their useless hub and never look back.

I moved to homeassistant because of this. it was kind of a pain resetting the lights without the hue app so i would suggest doing it in the app before moving them over to HA. you'll probably have to do the update before being able to reset them in Hue.

Why don't you just update?

Cause they believe in some conspiracy theory.

I personally ditched Hue for standard WiFi bulbs (now Matter) because I had a problem with the bridge’s wireless range. I have a 1.5 story, 3,051 sqft home and the only place I could connect it was in the upstairs game room and it was controlling downstairs lights, including a few outdoor. Now this was before using Home Assistant and HomeBridge in my setup.
