i could live on 300-400 per month rent included
Digital Nomads
I make $15,000-$20,000 a month. I don’t think there is a range to this because it’s not a career. It’s a way of working.
Digital nomad encompasses (but is not limited to) anyone whose job can be done remotely.
That ranges from freelancers making ends meet to survive in rural SEA to principle software engineers or company founders making millions.
There is no answer to be had here.
I earn around USD 20k per month as an engineer. I work rotational in a challenging location so 4 weeks work and 4 weeks travel. I can travel anywhere during the 4 weeks off. This lifestyle has been around for decades in the engineering world - we just didn't badge it ;)
I disagree. I make an extremely good living without coding. Want to find out more?
Been a DN since 2017 and I’ve seen it all.
-
Some see it as an opportunity to start/ grow their business while keeping their costs relatively lower than back home (i.e they’re not making a lot or any money but they’re also not spending 5k a month on rent in NYC)
-
Some people just make enough to sustain their travels and (e.g teaching english online (~30k a year).
-
Some people run multi-million dollar companies and just don’t see the point in living in SF. I’ve seen a lot people people like that than you can image.
-
Some people work in tech as devs, PMs and make (100-300k a year)
-
Some people have your run of a mill lawyer/ architect/ accountant job.
As edcRachel said, being a DN isn’t a career it’s just something people do 😊
I make 7000 euros a month completely remote
It really depends where you live and what your main company is, as well as the currency of your salary.
Around $1500-2000 monthly. I work in sales plus teach part time. Surprised many people here aren’t commenting closer to my number, everyone is saying 4k or above. There are some digital nomads out living on $700 a month, probably not comfy but definitely plenty of us in the $1000-3000 range.
