Hurts didn’t even play amazing last night? They’re essentially saying the award is going to go to the QB with the best record.

Of all years as well considering no QB has had a stand out great year that at least makes it hard to fully argue against.

[–] Jabbajaw@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tell me what happens if MVS catches the ball.

[–] vin1223@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Can someone explain to me why the most valuable players are the only ones getting the most valuable player award it makes no sense to me

[–] datyoungknockoutkid@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This thread has been refreshing. I came in assuming people would seriously be slobbing his knob after a year where he’s looked above average.

[–] Bitterblossom_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If Mahomes or Hurts gets MVP and they don’t somehow have a ridiculous ass half of the season then it truly will be a QB of the Year award at this point and discussions about it should hold the same weight as OPOY and DPOY.

I will take Stroud over Mahomes and Hurts for MVP right now but that will never happen since he’s a rookie.

[–] clingbat@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Vegas agrees with me not you, so yea...

[–] doubletimerush@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I would love Purdy to get it but if we wanna be real? If QBs have to win, and CJ Stroud continues to play pretty well overall, he deserves it.

Otherwise I'd give it to Garrett or CMC. Maybe Garett edges him out because CMC missed a TD on the Jags game that broke the streak.

Nah Hurts is not an MVP, as much as I wish he was. I like him a lot and am glad to have him as our qb, but when it comes to sheer and raw talent nobody beats Mahomes. He just looks worse because of his WR's.

Dumbest award in all of sports. None of the QBs deserve it except for maybe Stroud, but there’s at least 4 other players who should have it ahead of him.

[–] DapperCam@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Josh Allen has 5 more TDs and 3 more turnovers. His odds aren’t even close though because his team is broken.

[–] datyoungknockoutkid@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Man that speaks volumes that Jalen Hurts is front runner for MVP, considering his season hasn’t been what I would call MVP caliber. Such a weak year.

[–] KO-CLT@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Josh Allen has 5 more TDs and plays hurts this Sunday. Could catapult him into the lead with a big win. Get bets in now

[–] Donnerpartytwink@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Huge Eagles fan and I love Hurts. I think he wins a Super Bowl ( or 10) with the Birds. But, this is nuts. Since this is basically a QB award, I guess it eliminates guys like Hill, Lamb and AJ. Purdy and Prescott are much more worthy candidates as of today. Still a lot of season left but sorry, Jalen. Go Birds!!

[–] lutsius-memes@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If Myles keeps this pace, he should be a lock for DPOY and be a top 3 MVP candidate imo

[–] acroasmun@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Don’t go telling this on the Cowboys sub, they block anyone for “trolling” for any reason they can think of.

[–] mattoljan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

LOL for what? QB sneaks?

[–] pepenuts98@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They have Hurts and Mahomes at 1 and 2? These guys are not having MVP years. Why not look at someone else who's popping off this year? Feel bad for Kirk. He was looking like the MVP for awhile. My biased pick is Purdy. Has better stats than both these guys. Tua should also be in the convo

[–] etniesen@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Too bad bc if Kelse doesn’t fumble and MVS catches that ball or even if KC doesn’t have the drops in last night and the lions game Mahomes would have 1 less pick 6 and 3 more TDs

[–] torthBrain@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Keep the main thing the main thing.

[–] psych4191@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hurts is playing nowhere near at an MVP level. That's so ridiculous lmao

[–] derryxu@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I also hate this cause obviously people will swing the opposite way and discredit Hurts because of how ridiculous the claim that he's MVP is.

Hurts hasn't been playing bad, among QBs I think he'd be my second or third guy this year. His performance against the Chiefs also wasn't *bad* it was just meh. But he's going to get a lot of negativity his way cause of this kind of ridiculous line.

I really hope either one QB really steps it up these last weeks and wins justifiably, or another non-QB player gets it, cause even if my guy gets a cool trophy, the precedent set is so awful.

[–] DatDudeJakeC@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No QB besides maybe CJ would be worthy of the award if the season ended today, CMC and Tyreek on the offensive side, Myles Garrett on the defensive side should be the only 3 in the discussion

[–] bm677@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Purdy should be considered.

[–] happyitalianman@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hurts is a great QB, but how in the hell is he leading the MVP race with a 15 TD - 9 INT stat line

[–] aceless0n@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The Tush Push is the MVP

[–] jand999@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This is the year to give a non-QB MVP but they won't do it.

[–] Joaaayknows@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Just make a fucking separate QB award. Seriously. QB play this season should not even be considered for the MVP. Not a single guy has carried or even been consistent. Jalen and Purdy both have the most stacked teams around them and are in the conversation??

[–] mmm_tasty@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He may be the best player on the best team, but this would be an unusually weak pick. Even among QBs, he's only 10th in passer rating, 6th in QBR, and doesn't have an edge with volume. Stats obviously aren't everything but pretty much every MVP in history has had a reasonable stats-based argument for why they're the best.

[–] Jenetyk@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If CMC finishes on the pace he's at, given the current down year as far as QBs and numbers, and a QB still gets it; the award would lose pretty much all meaning.

[–] atraydev@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Should Mahomes be penalized for his wrs dropping balls? He was magnitudes better than Hurts who had a pedestrian night at best

[–] WizardsRuinedMagic@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hurts leads the league in interceptions and lost fumbles. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!!

[–] bm677@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He doesn’t lead in interceptions? But otherwise, I agree he doesn’t deserve mvp

Didn’t he play like crap the whole first half? He’s a great qb but cmon give it to a non-qb because if a qb wins it this year the award should be renamed to most valuable qb

[–] lite_funky_one@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Oh COME ON! Give it to a NON QB! No one is talking about this possibility.

[–] InterstellarJedi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

MVS is a bum for dropping that dime Mahomes put on him.

[–] ZAP_Riptide@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

No shot💀

[–] Anxious_Accident179@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Did I miss the part where Hurts looked extremely mediocre for the entire game?

[–] yourmumissothicc@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

none of the qbs this year have been great. None of them deserve it over CMC or Tyreek or Myles Garrett
