Nope.

I pay professionals so I can focus on other things.

Thinking you can start, operate a business by yourself without help is insane..

Sounds like all of the solo founders try to do everything themselves until the workload becomes too heavy. Is this the correct approach to find out the time when you need to hire employees?

I had asked the exact same thing but the post didn't get traction. OP asked the same thing but framed it in a way better, simple form. This helps.

One woman team here, managing my content, systems, SOP's, etc, makes me want to cry sometimes, but learning how to delegate as the revenue goes up slowly.

I started off as a one-woman show for my matchmaking company. In the beginning, I did all of the legal, accounting, matchmaking, recruiting, date coaching, marketing, etc. After a while, once your company grows, you are better off outsourcing a lot of the other work to pros. Now I just strictly focus on matching and date coaching my clients. The whole process from the beginning to now has been fun :D

Lot of software businesses. Also sell on Amazon fba. Software you can build and maintain on your own just takes a lot of time. Pay accountants/bookkeepers get rocket lawyer for law questions. When things scale maybe I’ll start hiring but why create overhead if you don’t have to

Growing gourmet mushrooms. Hardly any competition because no one knows how to grow them. Lions mane sells for close to $80 a pound. Another mushroom is closer to $300 but that's because no one is able to grow them.

Niche business directory. Do everything except I have some contractors do quality control on our business data. They get paid for what they produce, but I think they spend about 15-20 hrs a week on it and I spend about 15-16 hrs/wk. So less than 40 hrs/wk for the whole business to operate.

I built and maintain website, do all finances, billing, customer service, writing, everything. I really don't like relying on others and the fact that this has worked out is something I am never going to get used to.

I could probably get my money's worth out of a marketing person, but I prefer to keep things as simple as possible and already earn more than enough money.

It still feels like I'm solo-ing everything, even with a few VAs :(

I was, for a long time, too long. Handled it, consulting. Turned into a company that scales by seeking a team as though a marriage - same vision, same passion, same commitment. Anyone who joins us who doesn't clearly and quickly align in the same way, goes; starting a company is hard, so is marriage and a baby, I'm not dealing with anyone who doesn't 100% agree with the commitment.

Most people start off with a few partners or solos the whole operation. I soloed for the first 6 years and now I hire people.

First prove the concept works and is profitable, then scale and hire staff.

Any solo entrepreneur out here needing a free-of-charge seo audit or analysis, feel free to hit me up. I’m working to get testimonials, at this point.

I’m a one man show handyman/ carpenter. Been doing it for 17 years. I’ve had employees along the way, but I find it very hard to keep them or scale the business. As soon as they learn how to do the work, and get a pick up truck and a saw, they too are self employed. Can’t blame anyone for bettering themselves, but it makes it hard to retain talent. How do you guys do these internet businesses? I would love to have one, but don’t know how you even start?

[–] Design-Conquest@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Been solo since 2017 as a designer. Ups and downs with workload and pros and cons for being solo. The freedom and agency of being solo is unmatched. Now I’m at the point where I’ll trade some of that to scale and offload specific things
