LeBron James has a true shooting of 67.1%, second highest in the league. Curry has 68.5%.

LeBron turns 39 in a month. He leads the league in 4th quarter points per game and 4th quarter plus minus.

Curry turns 36 in a few months, he is averaging 30/5/4 on 48/45/93 splits.

They are both the backbone of their team. LeBron is leading the Lakers in points, assists, field goal percentage and plus minus. He is second in rebounds, blocks, steals and 3 point percentage. Curry is leading the Warriors in points, Klay is second with just 14.4 ppg with 40/34/88 splits.

The old guard is still at the top of the league. LeBron, Curry and KD are all top 10 still, their impact still undeniable. These 3 might just average 20+ ppg into their 40s. Crazy to think how a guy known for his shitty ankles, a guy known for his lanky frame and a guy best known for athleticism have a case for the 3 players with the best longevity.

both their teams suck, it’s time for them to finally join forces

The Warriors have more picks available for a trade, so that'd be LeBron going to them.

Who do the Warriors send for him? Klay and one of the young guys like Kuminga? Chris Paul a young guy or two and a ton of picks?

It seems like it'd be way too expensive to actually pull off - killing the Warriors' depth.

Not related, but there is a good chance Bron will play 7 or more seasons as a Laker player, which exceeds his 1st stint as a Cavs. Just mind-blowing.

Steph is so good. But leflop is a bum

[–] goblue202320242025@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s honestly unreal how good lebron and steph are at this age. Especially since both are way past what your physical prime should be

[–] HarbingerJohnny@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I love watching these guys play basketball for real is so great for the sport. It’s gonna seeing either of em’ retire.

Makes the Olympics next year more exciting.

[–] SandyMandy17@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If the thunder weren’t blowing out teams rn chet would be here

[–] need2peeat218am@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Curry actually has no help wtf

[–] Earlier-Today@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Klay's always been a slow starter, so it's hard to gauge, but this could be the end of his time as a starter level player.

I think the Warriors will keep starting him anyway, but it might be worthwhile to give the young guys some of his minutes.

Again, how can people say LeBron is the goat when he isn’t even the best in this era?

And make no mistake, this is the Steph era

[–] cancercureall@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What I'm taking away is that I hope Klay and AD get it together.

I don't want the best players to be dragging the corpses of their "co stars" around the league.

[–] UnhingedSupernova@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Klay only needs a significant amount of good games for him to be traded for Zach LaVine.

I did some heavy squats a couple days ago and my back is still cooked. I'm 26. How on earth can an almost 40yo man with that mileage play like this almost every single night?

[–] Hange11037@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

People just take it for granted that we’re getting the equivalent of Larry Bird and Magic staying healthy throughout the 90s, plus Dr. J still be healthy and nearly prime level in that era too. That’s what getting Curry and Durant still looking like they’re in their prime plus Lebron after two full decades still getting MVP conversations is like. It’s insane and I don’t newer fans really have a baseline to compare it to, to recognize how lucky it is we still get to see these guys playing at such a high level.

League'll be better when Bron gone.

[–] grudgepacker@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If 20+ ppg is the cherry picked criteria, here's the next 5 after Steph and LeBron:

  1. Steph

  2. LeBron

  3. Hali

  4. Giannis

  5. KD

  6. Jokic

  7. Booker

Should add KP would be 2nd over LeBron but he's "only" averaging 19.5 ppg lol

[–] Public-Product-1503@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If Bron could hit his free throws he’d be first by a bit, it’s kinda crazy

[–] LovetheNBA23@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Crazy how KD and Steph had to team up to beat Bron with a healthy squad.

[–] LyonsKing12@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Shit, I don't even know what's more impressive, so I'm just gonna say these muhfuggas are balling!!!

[–] ColdCocking@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Imagine telling people in 2016 that this is the case in 2023

[–] LyonsKing12@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Steph legitimately looks like he's going to make every single 3 he shoots. The greatest shooter of all-time is somehow scarier now at 35 years of age.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't he on pace to obliterate his own 3 point record?

Just insane production from these old farts.

[–] Mocrab@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Damn, it's almost like this LeBron guy is good at basketball.

[–] hjy23k@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm convinced Lebron got secret surgery in the offseason. He hasn't looked this explosive in years

[–] chungocartel@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

i wanna see these guys team up before either of them retire.

At his current pace he’ll break his old record as long as he plays 74 games. He’s actually had a few seasons where he hit the same or more threes per game as he did when he put up 402. But he played 79 games that season. He hasn’t played 70 games in a season since he was 28. So tbh I doubt he’ll break it.

Honestly, Bron could play until 45 on a good team. His passing / vision is unbelievable and he can always cut / push smaller defenders.

[–] vikumwijekoon97@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Lakers need to get their fucking shit together and get this man another ring. He’s 39 yall. Thirty fucking nine. He shouldn’t and doesn’t need to carry a franchise anymore.

[–] musing_wanderer3@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s time for the grandpa trio to unite and get their last rings in order to stave off the Giannis/Jokic/Celtics runs for a little longer

[–] SolarClipz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] Lebronforpresident24@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So a 35 and 38 year old are dominating the league still. Ouch.

[–] ekb2023@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

2 greatest players of the 2010s still doing their thing.

[–] veritron@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They're both really good players, both their teams are kinda mid right now, and they both want rings. Hmm, I wonder where this is leading?

[–] power_surfer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jokic is the new boss .

[–] snowstorm608@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No do it for players averaging over 30 ppg

Bron doing it with consistently great defense is what I love about it

[–] EarFinancial4672@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Well, yeah, they’re top 10 players all time. Both will be first ballot hall of famers, retired numbers, and statues. Defining a decade+ of the NBA and will be talked about for decades to come. They’re pillars of NBA history and the sport of basketball.
