You can reframe literally anything like this. Whatever you need to do to keep in the game, do it.

I don't understand the point of this question. Looks like you have a new perspective and need validation. What I don't get is why you need that validation if you feel your point of view is working for you.

Perhaps you'd consider talking to ChatGPT about this, to let it help you flesh out this line of thinking and see where it goes, instead of Redditors who may not be aligned?

For example if I were to do this I'd use a prompt like:

Your goal is to help me think through some of my thoughts on my digital nomad lifestyle. Guide me in a socratic method or as though you were a therapist, one question prompt at a time, to pull out the next thought.

My current thinking is that I now see digital nomading as a game for more freedom (i.e. options, quality of life, money, experiences, time), and I went as far as to post on Reddit about it. But I'm not sure where exactly I'm going with this point.

I think seeing life as a game can be very powerful regardless of how you do it. It makes problems less overwhelming and easier to step back from, goal more sensible and achievable and helps with doing what makes you happy when you can unpack it from all the societal bullshit and seeing it as just doing what you want.

Every country is like a new girlfriend. There's first, wonderful, romantic period, but at some point, life / routine kicks in, and you start seeing the cracks. Until you find something that really seem to work long term, and then you stop being a nomad.

Of course! Many digital nomads see their way of life as an exciting game in which they must overcome obstacles, get new experiences, and travel the world.

I describe my way of travelling as some sort of escape game.

So I land to some unfamiliar place, then I get to reach some exit point far away, while having to pass by a couple of checkpoints without dying, ruining myself, or losing my job.

In trying to get into the game, but haven’t been able to get a remote job to start, been applying like crazy in different fields and polished my resume a few times

Am in the process of selling all my belonging, cars, furniture, all except for 1 car and 1 bed that I’ll leave at my parents house just to have somewhere to crash at home.

Im expecting to have around $4k dedicated solely to DN life start, thinking of Thailand since I’ve found rents for $200 usd and transport/food is cheap.

But money runs out, what would you recommend to someone like me trying to play that DN game ?

Read a few of your comments re: building a game for this. Would be happy to chat via dm as it sounds interesting. I’ve thought about similar things in the past, and would suggest you look into the idea of geocaching as a way to easily structure this for digital nomads with just some rebranding doing most of the work for an MVP
