But people don t care about these characters, worse yet it seems reimagined 2nd tier characters get a better screen presence than the prime time characters. Iron man wasn't anything till marvel made him...whee as fantastic 4 keeps flopping about...

I suspect that because of the low tier status the corporate boards dont micromanage as much, and as such the creative freedom allows directors, writers and actors to make the work better... Where as the top tier, keeps getting the maximum boxes to tick, so they come out bland and in an attempt to appeal to everyone, appeal to no one.

Destroy culture and then offer them a shallow alternative and pretend it is a choice
