I posted something yesterday talking about how I hit $25k MRR.

Then I got dozens of DMs. Some from people who genuinely wanted advice.

But some others are depressed that they’re not rich. “How can I hit $25k MRR? I hate my life rn!”

Can we please take a chill pill and stop watching hustle porn?! I failed countless businesses. I cried so many nights cause I convinced myself I was a failure.

I have friends who are worth $10M+ by age 21. I have friends who are worth $10M+ by age 31. And I have friends who are worthless.

It’s fucking different for everyone. No need to be depressed or angry at yourself. Just keep learning and growing. I made some of my best friends in the process of building (and failing) my businesses.

Do people not build businesses for fun anymore? Do we have to immediately flex on Instagram in order to be validated?

/end rant

Hustle porn used to be my everyday thing when I was doing my business. I always said that hustle porn is like porn, you get a nut from watching other people succeed that you forget to go out and bust a nut yourself.

In layman’s terms, don’t let other people success take over your dopamine, it creates envy and envy only leads you down a path that isn’t accessible to you

100% truth. Those videos are soul sucking.

Thank you this is a great message that needs to be spread to the right audience. I was absorbed into hustle culture for a while and parts of those ideals/principles definitely still help me today but it’s not a healthy long-term mindset.

A normal person finally. They do exist.

I fucked up my mental health trying to get to a place asap without enjoying the progress. Lost it all! Money, happiness! Building again now! So I agree with you 100% and I would like to say, don’t compete, don’t compare. It’s your unique journey. I lost two cousins to suicide because of the kind of pressure we put on ourselves. I haven’t been able to fully recover from that blow. Nothing is worth your health and life. And having a 9-5 is great too if that works for you.

I would appreciate knowing what many of you define as being “Rich”.

I used to be one of those who spent hours on end watching videos about how people made money.

Some will say, "I made 1m in 3 months doing this." Or "I finally hit my 10k a day goal" and that got me feeling sad.

Yes, I knew that those numbers are possible to hit, but I panicked every time because I did not know where to start from.

So, I watched videos after videos, but did nothing.

I wish I had stopped watching those. Maybe, I would have gone far by now in my own hustle.

Anyways, better late than never ✌🏽

I understand your view, but there's another side to consider. Yes, success stories can sometimes make us feel like we're not doing enough, but this feeling of disappointment can actually be a powerful motivator. It's natural to feel down when we see others achieving great things, but it's what we do with that feeling that counts. Instead of letting it drag us down, we can use it as a wake-up call to push harder and aim higher. And about sharing on Instagram, it's not just about validation. It's a way to enjoy the process, to celebrate the small wins and share your progress. It's about the fun of sharing your story and maybe inspiring someone else along the way. Remember, small businesses are a massive part of our economy, and many started with someone being inspired by exactly these kinds of stories. It's all about perspective and balance. We have the power to choose how these stories affect us. Feeling a bit envious can be the nudge we need to get moving, to work smarter, and to build something great ourselves.

A lot of that hustle porn comes from people who are scamming people just like who OP is talking about. Be diligent, committed to the vision, yet flexible to the outcomes. It really is a journey

A lot of savages out there.

When one realizes we are all a part of something greater and divine, then one can only have faith in the divine timing of our grander visions to be manifested. Everyone is on a different path and everyone has different things to experience and learn to reach the desired outcome

Thank you for reminding me I’m not crazy. Had family blow up on me because I’m not made in their image this thanksgiving. I’m fine with that; it just feels like I’ve been doing something wrong. Thanks for the post.
