Interesting. I’ve just begun looking at some of their watches. Maybe I’ll wait for the dust to settle and see what happens next year.

I bought one from Praesidus a year ago and kind of went through the same thing. Ended up selling my watch on eBay because they wouldn’t refund me my money. While looking for another replacement watch, I ended up finding Vaer on a Facebook post and tried a cheaper quartz field watch they had and loved it. Almost a year later and I just bought my second Vaer, an A3 Atlas Navy 36mm auto. Very excited for it and love what the brand offers for the price tag. Maybe look elsewhere is my opinion. They’re a cool brand with nice looking watches but, man. It’s hard to get ahold of anyone at all.
When I bought my a-11 type 44, the customs declaration said country of origin was China and it had shipped from China. I was charged a ton of duties. Praesidus said that’s just where there shipping depot was…but the declaration seems to indicate it’s a Chinese product. Didn’t pass the smell test for the ‘assembled in the USA’ claim (although it looked nice), so I sent it back
Hello there - I'm Oscar Chabrat, the Brand Director for Praesidus Watch Co. I would love to have more information on how something like this could have happened. Indeed, we simply don't ship anything from Hong Kong or China - did you receive a sample?
And yes, we do assemble everything in our warehouse in Allentown, PA - and everything gets shipped from there.
I am genuinely curious as to what happened to your order so that you feel that way - about the duties; I'm guessing you live outside the USA?
Looking forward to your reply,
Oscar
