Ok, so I’m at that point in my startup where I am debating whether I should go down the Amazon FBA route or manage my own store and fulfillment.

I realise there are certain factors to consider for both directions.

Wondered if others faced this decision and what route you took? Maybe it may inspire a decision in me.

Thanks

I would suggest both. FBA is both fulfillment and your product o. amazon marketplace. You can connect shopify to use Amazon to fulfill your Shopify too. Amazon MCF can use your FBA inventory to fulfill.

This way you get the exposure of Amazon and still have fulfillment of your shopify store.

Those are 2 different things. Amazon FBA is order fulfillment which can be on Amazon or any other site. Shopify is a web store.

To answer your question of FBA or not, you need to say the size and weight of the item and how many you'll sell. You typically need 90 days inventory in FBA and storage is expensive.

For shopify site you need to be able to market and handle client acquisition costs.

90% of our sales are Amazon/eBay but self ship. All is listed on our websites too with full SEO but rarely get sales as we aren't marketing it
