How did you get started with fitness coaching? I’m a nutrition & fitness nut and coaching others is somewhat of a dream of mine. I never ended up getting a degree (as I dropped out to pursue Amazon full time - online arbitrage) but have considered going back and getting a degree in science of nutrition / dietetics. How possible is it excel in fitness coaching without some sort of degree? I’ve been kinda lost & would appreciate any answer 🙏 thanks & congratulations on your success

How did you find clients?

[–] AskFelix@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

What would you do differently knowing what you know now?

[–] Confident_Rough_9448@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I would have got on Instagram asap! I avoided it early on because I hated social media but it will ultimately be what truly delivers wealth to me in the long term. I also would have worked on my systems earlier and billing model. I don’t even want to think of the money I lost over the years doing people favors or not tracking numbers accurately.

What’s your pricing model like?

[–] yeahdudesurething@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Can you describe your business in two sentences? Thanks!

[–] Plane-Neighborhood58@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I’m in the online fitness coaching space as well. I’ve been at it for 3 years and I’ve crossed the 6figure mark on my way to multiple but you’ve completely blown my numbers out of the water. I’m amazed🥂🤝 congrats brother. I sent you a dm. I have a few questions if you don’t mind

[–] Confident_Rough_9448@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

For sure I’ll answer there

[–] daynighttrade@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Why not ask here and others can also gain?

[–] theswolejc@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

First off, congrats! Those are awesome numbers in a space that can be tough breaking into. I’m about a year in to building out my own fitness coaching business and this is inspiring.

How long did it take you to get to those numbers?

Did you have a mentor or any specific resources that have really helped give you direction with the business?

Can you give a general overview of what you’re offering to clients?

What do you feel are the most important value points you’re providing for clients?

How is your coaching delivered? (Are you using an app like Trainerize, custom app, etc)

I’m happy to hear you’re following your passion my friend. And I hope these answers help. I’m happy to chat further via dm as well

  1. it took my about 8ish years.. a lot of trial and error.. but I always grew revenue year by year… I fully plan to net 6 figures monthly in the near future.

2.I never had a true mentor tbh… this actually filled me with a lot of resentment for a long time tbh… but I honestly came to the conclusion no one was coming to save me and I needed to kill the lion myself. I’ve been fortunate to be around high net worth successful people as clients though and have been able to get some solid advice here and there. I do want to say however I’m not under any illusion I did this all by myself…. I had help.. people that fed me when I couldn’t afford food, the owner of the first studio I worked at letting me sleep there when I didn’t have a home even though he didn’t know me at all…. No one succeeds alone.. but at the end of the day it has to be you.. it’s your war to win. I do read business literature also… idk how god his rep is but Alex Hermozi’s books were honestly a god send in many ways.

2-3.if you DM me I can give details in that more.. but the long and short of it is that I honestly try to provide an amazing experience for my clients. My gym is highly curated and creates a comfortable private environment to train with me.. my app is and insanely user friendly system that gamifies progress and I take a personal vestment in each of my clients and txt them almost everyday to check in and encourage them to keep implementing the plan and let them know someone truly cares and is in their corner. Making a big change like many people come to me for can be intimidating so I try to cover every base I possibly can to make set people up for success. It boils down to expert knowledge and passion, extreme personal care and accountability in addition to cut glass systems for me.

  • I have a customized trainerize for my app but will make a complete custom one in the future.

My pleasure

Do you have an affiliate or referral program? Might be able to get you more clients if accepting.

[–] StoneWallyoda@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

How old were you when you started this business ? Did you start it on the side and grow it ? Or just jump right in ? How many years did it take you to get to where you’re at. Do you have employees now ? Congrats - incredible achievement.

[–] CocaBam@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

What was your startup costs?

[–] Confident_Rough_9448@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I started my business when I was I believe 25.. I did it more out of desperation tbh. I didn’t have a lot of employment options and was looking at a second bout of homelessness. I always had the gym and I was good with people so I jumped in and made moves… in the first month I made 7k (more money then I’d seen in my life in my account) and was able to move into an apt later that month.

I have 1 coach that works under me and a social media and marketing manager that work for me. I’m going to keep my staff as light as possible until I need to hire more… hiring is a pain and finding good people to work for you can be a literal hell (many bad experiences with that)

[–] TourApprehensive2155@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Do you have any employees? You mentioned you have a gym and an app, how can you see yourself scaling?

[–] UnderstandingFun5@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Congrats bro! Keep up the grind!

[–] Middle_Manager_Karen@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

How did you scale past a maximum number of slots? Say you can physically do 6hrs of sessions per day 5 days per week that is 30 slots or 120 per Month. I’m curious how you pricing didn’t plateau or at least when you raised prices based on a fixed capacity.

Maybe you have something else within your business not as 1-1 time dependent

[–] IfYouWillem@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

What's your scale secret? I just had my first $100k year but I can just tell we're overworking for it and there's a ton more gold real close.

[–] Palphite@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Did you open your own gym? If not, how did you go about partnering with a gym?

I'm a physical therapist with web dev experience, personal training, and diet strategies. I was just thinking earlier today how I can pull this all together on my own.

[–] Northern_neighbor@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

How did you go about getting/converting your social media followers to paying clients

[–] Confident_Rough_9448@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I make content that is engaging and informative

I offer free things as value proof that are ultimately lead magnets

I don’t hard sell people but a percentage of those people that take me up on my offers I get on calls to convert to clients

[–] elesilfat@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

The numbers are indeed impressive! But what's most fascinating is I had no idea one could earn that much by selling the specific activities of just one person, without creating any kind of service

[–] SnooSquirrels973@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Good for you,congrats🎉

[–] GurEnvironmental8988@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

How did you hire for tech? Was it a fitness app or just a website
