I currently have a Motorola Edge phone. It replaced an LG Velvet from about 2019. Before that was an Xperia. I love having options, and I derive some pleasure in avoiding Apple, Samsung and Google phones. Whether Xperia is still all that relevant or not is another thing. But the one I had was good for a few years.

I liked my Z ultra (to the point that I developed ROMs on XDA for the togari line) before I got a job that supplied me with an iFone.

If I had to go back to buying phones again I'd look at Sony again

of course they are, Sony as any other company nowadays needs user data to train its own AI models and smartphones are an infinity source of data

Haven't had an Xperia for a while, but I always really liked them.

It feels strange that the Xperia 5 V hasn't had a successor yet.

I bought one as the VIs were coming out because it still fit better for my needs than the newer hardware. Long live my 5V.

Loved my Xperia 1 VI but it needed hw upgrades pretty badly for the price
