This whole age of consent in Australia thing isn’t an excuse either. Here in aus the age of consent is 16, yes, but if you are 18+ it is classed as statutory rape, consensual or not. Age of consent only means that two 16/17 year olds can experimentally engage in intercourse and not be considered offenders.

Probably going to get incredibly downvoted for this, but this is entirely overblown and unnecessary. Dude just turned 21, he’s barely older than the girl, and these things are totally normal around the world (boy being a few years older than the girl even though she isn’t 18 yet). It’s just in America that you would see such an overreaction for this and like it or not it’s not something incredibly controversial anywhere else… Also given what we know about them meeting in a bar and her posting everywhere about it, what wrong did he exactly do?

I'm no expert but I've looked into it a bit.
A recent case (that ultimately hasn't gone anywhere) is that US Congressman Matt Gaetz was "alleged" to have had "relations" with a 17 year old minor, in a way that's essentially one of those pay-for-a-date/sugar daddy type scenarios (this was via Seeking Arrangemet). But, it happened because the minor directly lied about her age and told Gaetz she was 18. By all accounts Gaetz was horrified when he learned later on.
It's murky but one of the few absolutes is that Gaetz can be charged with sex trafficking of a minor even though she lied about her age, and even though he wouldn't have done anything if she hadn't lied.
If the allegations are true and she's a minor, what do you think the next move from OKC will be? Try to sweep it under the rug like every other franchise when it comes to bad things players do until people forget about it?
If the allegations are true, his reputation will forever be "the guy who dated a minor", no matter what else he accomplishes in his career, this will never go away. He'll have torpedoed his entire NBA career.

I think all the people trying to follow her, learn everything about her and find pics of her are a lot creepier than whats obviously a platonic situation between the two. They sent a pic together to the brother, the parents probably are obviously aware. I feel like it’s all the people in this thread that are the problem. Most likely there is nothing wrong in this scenario, 20 and 17/16 over the summer fling, what is wrong is that a megathread was even made for this before any facts got released
