Sell it or rent it. If you have no debt on the property, just get it rented. As many people have commented, commercial space is abundant.
You have to aggressively undercut the vacant market, but if you acquired this parcel for actual pennies on the dollar, undercut the vacancies by 25-50%, get it rented long-term, and just collect.
If you have to ask the question, "what kind of business should I start", I strongly suggest you not take that avenue.

Glad you got a good deal however these posts rarely ever include enough information to provide ANY suggestions.
If folks want halfway decent business startup consulting then they need to provide a bunch more info. For instance basics like size of community, demographics, what part of town, zoning, community growth history and projections, your skills, abilities, experience, bankroll, what was the building, glass front, parking etc etc etc.
Here's an example why. Growing weed is a multi-million dollar business in our area. Many grows are under 5k sq ft. Is it legal there?

Depending on these answers and where it's located would be important to consider before deciding to run your own business, lease it or sell it.

Depends on where you are! In some places in Canada you could store tires for winter/summer change over.
if the population is there, you could get equipment and run a Maker Space, and collect a monthly membership.
Or as other have said, just rent it out to others!
