There is nothing to see because everything was destroyed.

And no one left to report it because Israel kills everyone.

But the flag still stands so nations can now safely declare to acknowledge and accept the sovereign state of Palestine.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Doesn't help much to acknowledge a nation without a population left. 💀

They know, that's why they've waited this long and even now it's only a promise that they'll do it next month and only if Hamas disarms.

It's just so they can act like their innocent. We're all governed by demons

Considering ⅔ of Jews died in the Holocaust and 2% died in Gaza, let's encourage Hamas to not surrender yet, there's still a long way to go.

⅔ of Jews died in the Holocaust

No they didn't. Traditionally plenty of them live in diasphora so out of reach of the nazis.
The European Jewish population was indeed reduced to 3.8 million.
But of the total world population ⅔ survived.

Hamas will and should never surrender, they are the only armed resistance to the Palestinian holocaust.

Hamas will and should never surrender, they are the only armed resistance to the Palestinian holocaust.

What resistance? You people are actually delusional. Their biggest act of "resistance" in their 19 years of rule was the Oct 7th terrorist attacks where they killed a bunch of civilians and accomplished absolutely nothing strategic besides giving Israel the justification to go into Gaza and bulldoze everything. They have done absolutely nothing to Israel or protect Gaza in the past 2 years. Armed resistance my ass.

If Hamas has any sense of duty left to the people of Gaza, then they need to actively work with their allies, or at least whoever is willing to cooperate with them, on handing power over to the PA to ensure that Palestine stays united and in Palestinian hands after they're forced to inevitably sign a ceasefire treaty with Israel. This idea of Hamas stubbornly staying in power until the very last Gazan is not resistance, it's stupidity.

Piss off zionist hasbara scum.
It was the IDF terrorists that killed most of the genociders on oct 7 to create 'our own 9/11' as they called it.
Justification was exactly their plan.
And they're not 'civilians' either. A lot of them were Diaper forces living there and the rest are colonist landgrabbers.

In your delusions maybe, but back here in the real world, the reality is different. Hamas has already taken responsibility and they're very explicit about what they did and what their goals were. They miscalculated horribly as they thought taking hostages would give them enough leverage to get away with their attacks, as Israel usually goes to great lengths to retrieve them. However, the far right government decided to ignore their own protocols and ditch the hostages entirely in favor of razing Gaza. Nearly 2 years later and Gaza is rubble and at least 60k are dead. Hamas has to take responsibility and ensure the slaughter they brought upon their people ends otherwise Israel won't stop.

My reaction to this was so loud, my partner thought I might be dying.

Why does Ben Jennings care about this instead of fluffing Trump?

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Worse is that everyone knows exactly what's happening but apparently don't care too much.
Painfully obvious when I went to a Palestine protest on monday.
We just had 400000 people for a pride parade this weekend, climate marches draws 10000's of youth.
Who was there for the Palestinians? About 150 people, avg age 50+.

OC these protests are unwanted by our western regimes.
No coverage in the press, no Palestine flag projected on buildings like they did with the rainbow flag.
School kids don't get an afternoon off so they can go to a protest, etc..
But even then, where are they?

There is little activism or initiative in todays conformist, propagandised and apathic youth.
Maybe they are molded by propaganda.
Can't be bothered to show up, unless they are primed and nudged only to act for causes acceptable to our governments.
A dystopian and depressing realisation.

I need a drink after that, the many terraces in the city center weren't far.
I could see them from the protest, just as the many many young people drinking there could see us.
Not even they had taken the effort to walk 20 seconds to show support.
