There is a reason we’ve never seen it before. A shitload of NBA players could be wildly successful NFL players, but when a team invests tens or hundreds of millions of dollars into one player, there is no fucking way they’re going to allow them to put themselves at that kind of risk.

I would now like for the Timberwolves to win the 2024 NBA Title so we can see Edwards in the NFL the following year.

Any right now could be a wide receiver or a tight end at the nfl level

In terms of physical skills it should be doable but in terms of building up the physical stamina to take the hits and the blocks, etc. that's something that NFL players develop for a decade or more from an early age. I have my doubts that someone starting that "late" could or would want to handle.

I love the idea that he would be up for the financial sacrifice this would involve because he was motivated by other things. These guys are all so rich, and it always kind of bums me out to see someone who already has more money than his children will ever be able to spend focus on squeezing out every available dollar.

I don't love the idea that we'd miss some seasons of potentially MVP-candidate-level play to see him play football, which is so much more destructive on your body than basketball. It's not likely to be like Jordan playing baseball, when he could get back into basketball shape afterwards. The NFL is brutal.
