Since November 15th, LaMelo Ball is averaging 35.3/6.8/8.8/1.3/0.3 on 60.8% TS despite only averaging 4.5 FTA per game. He has finished with at least 34/5/5 in each game, that is the longest streak of 34+ point games by any player at any point so far this season.

The Hornets are 2-2 during this stretch. They have faced the Bucks, Knicks, Celtics and Wizards.

With the way LaMelo is playing right now he is definetly looking like he will make his second All-Star appearance. He also has the second longest active streak of 25+ point games in a row with 9. He is only second to Kevin Durant who currently has 14.

The "Player x is shooting high percentage over miniscule amount of games stretch" is in the same vein.

Name 10 players who have had 4 34/5/5 games in a row ever

[–] pinhead-l@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

what a stupid hill to die on

[–] MITMarkWilliams@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That having 4 34/5/5 games in a row is rare?

A lot of people are going to reply with the sample size, but I feel like this post is a response to the multiple posts about him doing poorly after the first five games. Either way Lamelo has been playing well and it looks like he is adjusted now. We also finally got back 2/3 of our roster after being down nearly half of our roster early on so hopefully that translates to more wins.

Bro is over here trying to copy MITWestbrook. The neckbeard war is in full effect

[–] dautjazz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I mean that's great but it's such a small sample, not really poat worthy.

[–] cwesttheperson@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

9 days and 4 games lol.

[–] Altruistic-Drawing25@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You're getting cooked but Lamelo is definitely an all star caliber guy. It just depends on voters and team record.

[–] MITMarkWilliams@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah I know it’s only 4 games but people aren’t even resdon that post. It’s not only that but the fact that he has had 4 34/5/5 games in a row. Very few players have done that ever. The only players I am aware of who have done that are Larry Bird, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Dwyane Wade & Giannis Antetokoumnpo. There is probably someone I’m missing but still.

Watching him has been a blast this season. We have a long way to go to get to the point we want to be at, but man, Ball has made it fun at least.

[–] ketoburn26@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It’s a span of 9 days and 4 games. Pipe down on the dick sucking

[–] Therealbillbrasky69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lamelo is an empty stats on a bad team kind of guy. Until he starts playing winning basketball consistently this is not exciting. I hope he gets it together and leads the Hornets to something other than what they have been because it has been bad…

[–] MITMarkWilliams@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah the Hornets have never been above .500 in a season with LaMelo and LaMelo doesn’t consistbetly increase these winning % everytime he plays. He is not like Shai who did way more with OKC in his firat 3 years there. /s

[–] Therealbillbrasky69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I see you are in your feelings a bit and that is okay, it happens to the best of us. The hornets are a dumpster fire right now and have been for years. Lamelo has not played well outside of the 21-22 season. Unfortunately, he has been held up with injuries and has not had a clear upwards progression. As a basketball fan I would be excited to see him get back on track as one of the best young playmakers/shot creators in the league. Also as a basketball fan I am not going to jack him off for a good week. Show me consistency and I will be happy to praise him.

Who upvotes this stupid shit

[–] GringoMambi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You can just say a week bro lmao

[–] Reinhardtisawesom@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

MITMarkWilliams is valid tbh

[–] BruinBound22@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

We just made a post like this about Fox last week and we broke him. God speed Melo

[–] ReggieZoldyk21@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

So many salty dudes in this thread. I guess OP didn’t get the memo that the only all stars from the 2020 draft we’re allowed to D ride on here is Haliburton and Edwards lmao

[–] CliffDraws@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

SGA is averaging 40 ppg over the last 4 days.

[–] KenKinV2@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This place is so weird about Lamelo. There is a similar thread about Trae who is putting up less impressive stats, but it is getting much better reception

[–] NBAFan34@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Holy shit why are you guys so miserable in here

[–] Shoumaker@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

lol what a stupid post

[–] DoubleAmigo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

There are genuinely people in here worried about arguing with MITMarkWilliams over how long of a timespan he put in his post huh?

[–] astralreflection@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Still 5-9, he can score as much as he wants. Team’s still doodoo

Since 9 days ago? Bro, r/nbacirclejerk is that way, but even then they want higher quality content than this.

[–] HotspurJr@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I felt like Lamelo was a little over-rated given how entertaining he is and how much Charlotte needed a feel good story. Not in a terrible way, just, you know, he had real flaws (which you'd expect in a guy that young) which people were brushing off. People seemed a little hasty to anoint him.

But it does seem like he's elevating his game in all areas.

I really do feel like the future of the league is in good hands even though it's going to make me sad as the current crop ride off into the sunset.

[–] wintertime0411@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

everyone thought he was overrated because no one watched him or wanted him to be good

[–] Sosuayaman@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Can we please cool it with these irrelevant stat posts?
