Kinda random but I feel like this would fix a massive issue of late game fouls slowing the game to a crawl and would force defenses to be extra careful instead of playing borderline football because the refs are scared to call a foul to decide a game. It would be an intressting mix of teams wanting 3 point specialists on the court vs playing bigs to grab rebounds and play d since hacking them wouldn't be a problem anymore

So on the last possession of the game, 5 seconds left, team A has the ball down by 3, all team B has to do is foul team A and win since they’re still up one

So you want to give the refs a way to directly impact the score, rather than the current slightly better method of requiring a player to make a shot(s)?
Refs are sus enough as it is, giving them even easier access to cover/beat their spreads is a terrible idea.

I'm a big supporter of legislating late game fouling out of the game but this isn't a good way to do it. Just do a mandatory 10 second runoff on every foul after 2 minutes.
