INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Jim Harbaugh is refusing to comment on the NCAA's decision to fine the University of Michigan tens of millions of dollars and to suspend head coach Sherrone Moore for a third game due to the sign-stealing scandal that occurred during Harbaugh's tenure at his alma mater.

Harbaugh stayed mum on the Wolverines when he stepped to the podium at SoFi Stadium on Saturday night following his Los Angeles Chargers' 23-22 preseason loss to the Los Angeles Rams for his first interaction with the media since the NCAA's rulings were announced Friday.

"Like I said to you last year, not engaging," Harbaugh said. "Not engaging."

What does this story teach us about the world, children?

Cheating pays. (At least in pro sports.)

You're several decades late to the NCAA party, man. Let's stop acting like this is the first and only cheating scandal in NCAA football. And as far as the NCAA goes, extra scouting is lightweight. Especially since after years of investigation, they found nothing other than the Michigan coaching staff was uncooperative.

I mean what’s he gonna say?

“Yeah no shit that’s why I wanted to get in the NFL because I saw the writing on the wall and wanted to get out before I suffered the consequences of my own actions?”

That’s why I will root against the Chargers as long as he’s the coach. They were complicit in hiring him knowing that he cheated at Michigan, but they didn’t care. They just want to win, and I hope they don’t.
