Somehow despite it being a quite simple and clean design I find it confusing I couldn't tell you what time it is at a glance

Really? 😂

Agree with you here. It's busy. Big numerals, four hands, date window, large indices. I like the regular Alpinist. And thought I would love the GMT version as well. But, it seems too cluttered to my eyes. Still a great watch, just not my cup of tea.

I actually find it alot easier to read than most watched, so i would have to disagree

From your responses, it seems like you don’t actually want people’s opinions, you just want people to tell you how cool your new watch is and how smart you are for buying it.

How can this watch be easier to read than most watches, when there's a lot more going on here that can distract you, compared to most watches?

This Alpinist has a compass bezel ánd a 24 hours gmt bezel, that's one bezel more than most watches. It has not 3 but 4 hands, one hand more than most watches. It has a date, it has big numerals ánd indices on the dial (most watches pick one or the other). It has 5 lines of text on the dial: the logo + the prospex x + gmt + automatic 3 days + 20 bar (more text than most watches).

Tell me you really like this watch and there's nothing I would be able to do but respect you and your choice of wrist candy.
But don't tell me this is easier to read than most watches. Because this watch is objectively more busy than most and the more there's going on besides just the time indication, the harder it will be to tell the time. Compare this Alpinist to a Sinn 556 for instance. That's a watch that's really easy to read. Three hands and a date, two words on the dial, no bezels.

I think orange is usually used on these white dial GMT colorways to help make certain things pop. It would have done well here.

What a coincidence, my friend literally bought this in Japan and it was around 160,000 yen so I think you are getting a pretty decent price on it.

They have them for $1300 plus almost 10% sales tax at a store here in Los Angeles.

I have the black dial version of this Alpanist GMT. It's great. Love the size, the bezel being brushed and with the hour markers I think make it a little more sporty than the other alpanists.

I was a little annoyed that it didnt come with a bracelet. However any Aplanist bracelet, weather Seiko, strapcode, uncle seiko etc. Will fit.

Welcome to the Alpy club. It’s a watch that will never let you down.

I really like it! Nice color combination and looks great on the bracelet. Congrats, great purchase!

I think the cathedral hands are beautiful, but shouldn’t be on this watch. Everything except the hands is simple and utilitarian which makes them feel out of place and the design seem confused.

I wish the blue one come with bracelet
