Feels like the answer is never someone who already has one so it's between guys like Tatum/Luka/Embiid/Booker/SGA

Out of that group I'd probably go with Tatum because of how stacked the Celtics are overall and how many near misses they've had(could also see Embiid but I don't think anyone truly sees the Sixers roster as championship caliber or actually expects them to win this year)

James Edward Harden Junior

[–] m_d_def@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

SGA shouldnt be undher the pressure to win it this year, he has a lot of time

[–] SandyMandy17@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Chet

Bc he won’t get ROY unless he gets FMVP

[–] Charming-Breakfast48@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Booker and KD. After getting stomped out two years ago and floundering last year, this year is the year for them with Beal or idk what Phx is going to do

[–] schittsweakk@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No one ever expects Sixers to win and they are right.

[–] BossButterBoobs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Giannis/Dame, Harden, Embiid, and Jokic (Mike Malone) in that order.

[–] cynicalhappiness@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Kevin Durant or James Harden but i lean more towards KD because I wouldn’t mind him winning a ring

[–] ThirdEyeKaiii@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Giannis. If he goes out sad like he did the last two years, then his only title/finals appearance will look even more flukish than it already does. And it's even more pressure now since he has Dame and the East only has few contenders.

Durant should be up there too. Only won when he joined a historic team.

Lillard In Milwaukee and Embiid in Philly

[–] HolyGig@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think Tatum is up there but the Celtics will be good for awhile longer and he's still young. There is more pressure on the Celtics org than there is on Tatum I think. Worst case scenario (for us) and his skillset would work paired with any other superstar and on any other team.

Dame, Harden and Embiid are physically running out of time and the clock may have already run out on Harden.

The pressure on Embiid to reach a conference finals is greater than winning a ring

[–] bmanley620@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Tatum. They’re always good but not good enough

I agree with what you said. Though i have been impressed with the 76ers. They have been a lot better than expected due to the rise of Maxey. Before this i thiught they should just blow it up, but now i think they could go for another good player and be a contendor.

I dont wanna say he needs to win it this year, but in the next 3 years. Otherwise he wont be able to compete with Giannis and Jokic for who is the best player of this era.

Celtics duo. They have a super team.

Bucks/Dame have some holes on the wings. Nuggets already won.

Would've said Chris Paul before the season but that's not looking likely at this point

Pressure to win rings mostly applies if you are a top five player in the league imo. Of course there is pressure for the other stars in the league, but the pressure bumps up a notch when we label you as a top 5, MVP candidate kind of guy.

Tatum to me hasn't proven he is a top 5 guy, so I don't think it's fair that he has the most pressure. He's in the same tier as Booker, Kawhi, Jimmy, Dame, Shai.. Guys that we see as superstars, but not necessarily expected to single-handedly carry their teams to a title.

Embiid and Luka are the 2 guys who have been treated as top five players for the past few years that haven't made it to the finals. Embiid is fresh off of an MVP, and Luka has been the preseason MVP favorite a couple times. Both of these guys might end up on different teams within a couple years if they don't succeed soon.

Jokic, Giannis, Steph, Durant, Bron are the other guys that fit that top tier discussion, but they've all won titles. Embiid and Luka are the 2 that haven't done it, so to me they have the most pressure right now.

Uhm...Honestly, there is so much parity, uncertainty, and newly formed rosters that no one is really under that much pressure.

Giannis, Jokic, Bron, Curry, Durant, and Kawhi got theirs...

Luka and SGA ain't ready yet.

Embiid and the 6ers have exceeded expectations with no Harden...

Mm...Tatum seems like the best choice, as the Celtics have been a fringe contender ever since Tatum got there. But he's so young that he has a big window.

I think Kawhi looks like he really failed in LA though.

[–] Bat-Buttz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Prob Tatum, with the roster moves.

Embiid to not fold and get his team into the conference finals.

Why is Luka have pressure to win a ring this season? He man is the general on the floor during a rebuild, who missed the playoffs LY and now suddenly HE MUST WIN this season? Or else? The man is 24, putting up MVP numbers every year while his management builds a championship roster around him. Plenty of time.

Booker not even in the same realm as the other guys you listed wtf

[–] captaincumsock69@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think the Celtics are a good shout but I also think suns and clippers have a lot of pressure

AD

Lebron's still playing like a top 5 player and who knows how much longer he can keep playing at this level.

[–] YurtlesTurdles@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Embiid has the most 'he disappears in the playoffs' narrative to try to erase.

Even with that the simple answer to the question is Dame

[–] bbqyak@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Embiid is the reigning MVP and turning 30 so probably him. Luka/Tatum are still quite young so can get a pass IMO. Obviously guys like PG and Harden as well. Maybe KD too since he's basically on a superteam. Dame because he whined all summer and got to team up with Giannis now.

[–] Niner-Sixer-Gator@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Definitely Embid,

[–] tonyabalone@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

LeBron. He old.
