I can’t believe KD joined them
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
Biggest bitch move of all time. It’s hilarious how people tried to defend it. History will remember.
Teams winning 70+ games is a mind-boggling experience. Same with that one 16-0 season in the NFL. Just silly levels of good.
Someone wins a ring every year. But 73-9 may never happen again.
I was there to watch both the Bulls and Dubs runs and still hard for me to process.
Those seasons were so uniquely dominatingly awesome that only a few things come to mind to match the statistical circus involved.
Barry Bonds stats. Barry Bonds the player.
Cal Ripken's Ironman run.
The last few Ohtani seasons.
Just to name a few.
Besides having great players in their prime, the League had also not caught up to their style of play.
Kind of funny cause because that year was great. Untouchable record that was broken but was overshadowed by Kobe scoring 60 then overshadowed again cause Bron took them to town in the finals making it the most useless achievement ever.
I was a huge kobe stan prior to 2016 and one of the numbnuts that advocated his goat status. However, after that legendary finals from Lebron? I actually had to re-evaluate what goat meant.
People argue peak vs longevity when talking about goat, but id say winning 4 in a row, down 3 against a 73 win team is up there in peak.
And it makes the Cavs title so much sweeter I love it!
Their third Quarters were the kill shots. Games would be over and Steph would sit the entire 4th 😂. Crazy he broke that three point record playing 3 Quarters most games.
The thing with the 'greatest team of all time' tag is that it isn't really warranted when you include the post season. Why you would discount the hardest part of the season with the best competition and most intense defense is beyond me. Whatever, going into the NBA Finals the Warriors had already lost an additional 5 games and their overall record was sitting on 85-14 (0.856). The 96 Bulls had lost just one additional game before heading into the 96 Finals and were sitting on 83-11 (0.883). So when people say the Cavs (and LeBron) beat the greatest team of all time, it's not actually true.
