kinda scared that the bengals higher ups will see how big of a fraud zac taylor is and they’ll make a coaching change :/

As a Bengals fan I completely agree with the sentiment that Coach Taylor is a fraud, I've been saying it ever since he was brought in, he's been propped up by good players and a great defensive coordinator. The way he handled the calf injury to Burrow really exposed him as a bad coach imo. Any other decent coach would have benched Joe and started the backup, with Joe in the game during his injury completely limited the offense to essentially shotgun only formations and the results were obvious to how we started the season. A backup would have opened up the entire playbook and at least given us a chance to win. But unfortunately Taylor isn't a good coach and did the worst thing he could have done. This wrist injury was inevitable with how Taylor handled everything.

So what happens if Browning wins games? What will people say about Zack?

[–] moffettusprime@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You dumb bastard. ( jk ) You of all people should know the bengals don't fire coaches. If Zac Taylor never makes the playoffs or a super bowl again. He'd still be the coach for 10 plus years. I mean, do you not remember Marvin Lewis?

[–] MatureUsername69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I hope your intended inflection on "you dumb bastard" is the same as Ethan Suplee's in Mallrats

Marvin Lewis lasted forever as coach and in fact may have been the Bengals coach when the Founding Fathers set sail for Plymouth Rock.

Taylor is safe.

Here's my hot take. Lewis was a better D Coordinator than Taylor is an O coordinator. That's not much of a compliment but I'll stick to it. I've never seen a coach be so stubborn and against change when things are obviously not working. Taylor is just lucky that he has such a young, talented team and Burrow to make him look better. Imagine what they'd do with someone competent.

So you're saying that the coordinator of the best defense of the 21st century is better at defense than Zac Taylor is at offense?

[–] TheMadChatta@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Brave, aren’t they?

[–] CoachDizzy2465@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not even hot, it's 100% correct. ZT's entire plan relies on Burrow and Chase just outperforming the other team. If one of them can't get going, there goes the entire offensive plan. He was a terrible OC everywhere he's gone. But as a players coach and team builder, I'd still say he's better than Lewis.

“Highly accurate QB and one of the best receivers in the league? Uhh uhh, lateral pass 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage for no gain 6x per game!”

[–] HopscotchChampion69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

if it wasn't for Joe Burrow being his QB and Lou Anarumo running the defense it would be so much more clear to people that Taylor just isn't the guy

[–] omega_nik@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They won’t

[–] getfuzzy77@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wish they would. We need a HC who leaves the play calling to the OC. ZT might be a great guy but can’t say much for his performance this year. I don’t have any hope of him being let go or leaving any time soon consider we held on to ML for waaaaay too long.

Set to start practicing as soon as Tuesday, sources say...

[–] LinkN7@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Aaron Rodgers Spiritual practices at work I see

I wonder how shit affects a QB long term. Think he’ll ever be the same?

[–] EverySir@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Purdy came back better. I expect the same for burrow with significant rest and healing.

[–] JerryAnytime@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Burrow will be fine. Any assumption otherwise is crazy.

[–] Winterclaw42@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Good question. I wonder how many injuries and surgeries one can go through before there's a cumulative effect of the injuries and they start slowing someone down. Plus there's got to be a mental toll that the injuries and rehab takes.

[–] Slumlord722@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He needs to borrow some of Rodger’s ayahuasca so he can heal faster

[–] Random-Cpl@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hope he gets better soon.

[–] VictorFromCalifornia@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

All these disingenuous "get well soon" posts from Ravens and Steelers fans as if they didn't cheer secretly when he went down...

[–] VeryRealHuman23@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Looking forward to how the script writers ruin the 2024 season 😑

[–] Dizturb3dwun@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I hatelove watchin Burrow play. He's so fucking accurate, it's crazy.
But he is developing a really worrying injury history, and he's being sacked at like 1.4x the rate of Andrew Luck. In our division, that is... really bad. I hope Cinci does right by him. Having 3 WR1's or 1.5's, a top RB, the Top QB, and a great defense. But no offensive line (or just other teams castoffs) is a recipe for disaster. A fun, flashy, thrilling disaster. But a disaster

“I’d be back in 2 weeks.” - Aaron Rodgers

[–] GiovannisPersian@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That ellipses is super ominous for no reason lmao

[–] dochim@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You forgot to say “successful” wrist surgery.

Hope he heals well.

[–] TypicalCricket@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Get well soon Joe Burrow!.
