I currently have been working on consumber based mobile app for 2.5 years. The apps 1st week retention rate is 35%, 4th week is 18%, 24th week is 5%. Current monthly revenue is $1,000.

I’m starting to get discouraged because, correct me if I’m wrong, but I feel like a startup shouldn’t be taking this long. Retention is still increaseing month over month (although very slowly) but for some reason I feel like I’m heading down a dead end.

Here is a graph to show my apps retention. Blue line is 1st month’s retention, red line 2nd month, etc.

I started this app for people like me, I noticed the market was saturated but all the existing solutions sucked in my opinion.

What should I do?

Have you tried getting feedback from people who didn't stick around?

The graph is useless without more info. Some apps only have a useful life span of a few weeks and more features isn't going to change that.
