I’m traveling abroad to different countries for 4 months next year. I currently have Visible’s basic plan, and I’d probably just keep that and get an ESIM for data if it weren’t for needing 2FA while I’m away and working. I’m open to switch carriers if it means getting an international plan that would allow for me to receive SMS. What is the easiest and cheapest option for having the best of both worlds while traveling abroad as a DN (Data and SMS/international calling)?

I have Visible’s basic plan, am abroad right now (UK), and bought a data-only plan. So it sounds like basically the same situation you’ll find yourself in.

If I ever need to access SMS codes, I go back to my Visible plan, turn on airplane mode but be connected to wifi, turn on WiFi Calling, and bang, I receive the SMS texts.

WiFi Calling is for both texts and calls. So if you ever need to call someone or an entity, you’d just put in the country code.
