Candidates off the top of my head are:

- Dame

- Steph

- Luka

Obviously Harden was one of the best at his peak but likely not now

Steph. Yet to see someone release the ball like him. He's done it while falling down consistently wth

In my personal opinion, definitely Luka. And for two reasons... That reason is his size. He's 6'7, and he has a high release point on his jumpshot. What that means is that despite his relatively slow release, his size makes up for the slow release. He's also a master of generating space. His ability to make defenders jump back before he steps back is hilarious. This is why I think he has the best stepback CURRENTLY in the game. All the time, I'd say, is James Harden

Maybe not the best but Brunson’s is pretty pure. It probably needs to be so he can shoot over defenders being his size.
