  15. Spurs (0-4) (-58)

the Raptors, Bulls, Wizards, Pistons, Nuggets, Jazz, Thunder, Mavericks, Clippers, Trailblazers, Grizzlies, and Spurs are eliminated from the IST.

the Cavaliers, 76ers, Hawks, Hornets, and Suns can only get in VIA WC.

Scenarios:

  • one of the Bucks, Magic, Knicks, Heat, Nets, Cavaliers, Celtics, 76ers, Hawks, and Hornets could get that final WC spot, 2 of these other teams will win their Group, leaving 7 teams out, the least likeliest to get a WC spot is the Hornets.

  • the Suns can only miss out on a WC spot if the Warriors AND Timberwolves win AND the Timberwolves win by more than 37.

Man who would have thought we’d have a chance to win our group. We were the “bad team” in our group, so it’s stacked

Warriors and Timberwolves cannot both be wild cards. You must finish 2nd in your group to be a wild card. Can’t have two teams from same group as the two wild cards

i’m saying that the Suns can miss out on a WC spot if the Warriors & Timberwolves both win by 37+ and 30+, resulting in the Warriors/Timberwolves winning the group, and the other team being the WC over the Suns.

^([no team bias, just in case])

using h2h as the primary tiebreaker of a round robin group is a dumb way to go about this.

Going into the group stage no game should start out with any more importance than any other.
