Well tbf i dont care what you think anyway. Its still fun as hell.
South Park
Everything related to the animated television show South Park! (Images, videos, quotes, news, articles, thoughts, trivia, etc.)
i dont blame you for thinking that, Seasons 19-24 were kinda weak in comparison to others imo
I half agree but I still find them very funny. I’d love for South Park to return to its more surreal roots when the boys would go on crazy adventures.
This always happens to adult cartoons when they air for decades.
That’s because we barely get seasons now.
Fully agree. This used to be a show I would watch the second it aired, but slowly after season 20 I just couldn't be bothered tuning in each week. Eventually I just stopped watching. The last episode I remember watching was about Paint Ball or something. Haven't watched it sense. Still got love for the show tho to go 20+ seasons even if it's no longer made for me.
24 onwards has been a big return to form, but 20-23 was definitely the weakest period in the show's history
I hated season 20. 21 was a lot better I felt
Going back to watch the first four seasons proved to me at least that no, 20-23 are leagues above where they started. Those first 4 seasons are almost an entirely different show at this point, like fan films to what South Park eventually became.
Yeah I agree. They may have given me chuckles, but I found the seasons boring overall. The Panderverse was the first time in forever that they got me laughing in tears.
Oh definitely. It has gone to a point I just watch a new episode because I've watched the show from the start. I have zero expections towards new episodes, and usually it feels like a waste of time watching.
Maybe you weren’t just ready for the shift of characters. On the earlier seasons, the kids were the focus. Now, it’s more on the adults especially randy. But i still love them. The panderverse was epic to me.
For me it went downhill fast when they started to do "political hot topic of the week/month/year" instead of random humour with occasional current day events. Mr Garrison as Trump and similar stuff was just stupid and unfunny. Also I hate Tegridy farms...
Best South Park episodes were stuff like Scott Tenorman or Casa Bonita or the superhero or ninja episodes...
Season 19 & 20 were the smartest seasons of South Park. Season 7 is the funniest by far
“Political hot topic of the week/month/year” has been the case since the 2000s
It's literally the entire point of the show. The production time for an episode is just a week long, and they strive to satirize current trending events and sociopolitical discourse.
Exactly. Socially conscious. That’s why season 19/20 was their most ambitious in that regard.
BTW Incase some haven’t realised, they clearly have insider information on events to come 🔮 Don’t believe the “we were just reacting to x events” at all times. Many instances where they were clearly in the know
Lately there’s been so few episodes because they’re focusing more on their paramount specials
IMO seasons are still good but I can’t stand the season with the PC babies in it
The last season was pretty good
Yes, definitely not an unpopular opinion around here. They rehashed seasons-long jokes and plot points (Tegridy, I'm looking at you). The humor got a lot less subtle and clever over time, relying on in-your-face commentary of low hanging social issues. Many episodes lacked an engaging b-plot.
Well that’s like just your opinion man.
I haven't been a fan since season 15 or so
I kind of stopped paying attention after season 14.
Completely disagree. I think it gets funnier every season.
I think it's best if you just stop watching imo. If you've not liked 6 whole seasons in a row maybe the show just isn't for you anymore.
