Hey all,

I've had a decent career background in the ad industry, helping regional/national brands gain recognition, go viral, and increase sales. I've even won some awards for it.

And I've been debating with the idea of opening up my own small indie agency to work specifically with small/medium sized enterprises in the US. After all, why should it only be these massive corporations who have access to institutional knowledge? Why shouldn't an independent business get the same opportunity?

So I'm posting here hoping to gain some insight. I work on the creative side so I never did any of the client outreach myself.

For those of you who are operating successful businesses, or maybe you operate your own regional agency, how have you experienced advertising agencies handling potential client outreach? I don't imagine most small business owners are exactly excited to receive a coldcall.
