I have always been a Dan Henry fan. I found out about them in 2018 or so when I was still in medical training and $260 was more than I could fathom spending on a watch. I got the 1962 Evil Panda Chronograph and despite it being quartz, I couldn't ask for much more. It gets looks and attention (within reason). Overal DH quality, style, ethos, resonates with me. Flash forward a few years the bank account is bigger but I still wear an Apple Watch Ultra and take a watch off for 8-12 hours a day and leave it unattended in the OR, so the temptation to grab a 10k watch is tempered by lack of use and concern with theft or damage.
That being said, I needed a colorful watch to go with a jacket for a Kentucky Derby themed Christmas party this week. The jacket is in picture three, so I went back to the trusty well of Dan. The 1970 is an automatic watch that has much more depth than the quartz chrono. I got it today and have only worn it a couple hours but the rubber strap doesn't bother me (and I wear navy scrubs daily) but is something I'd consider changing on a daily. The watch has pop and depth and my initial impression is that its fairly unbeatable in the fashion automatic under 300 from a US company category.
I went with a 40mm due to my 6.5" wrists. I think I could do 42 in this watch but 44 may be too much. The '62 is a 39mm for reference.

Until next time, Dan!
