I sell a really niche type of patio furniture. My main competitor (and only competitor that sells the exact same product as me) is running crazy sales and getting paid but only delivering on a handful of the orders they receive.

They have an F on the Better Business Bureau. I’ve even been getting calls from their customers trying to reach them about their open orders. Their customers tell me they are impossible to get ahold of after the order has been placed.

What can I do to stop this from happening? Surely what they’re doing is illegal but it’s not like I can call the cops. Any advice is appreciated.

Tell the people complaining to call the cops and when they get their money back - come talk to me I will get you what you paid for or tell you their is a back log ask for your number and call you back when I can provide.

Otherwise, copy their marketing playbook as it clearly works.

My ad campaign would be "Yes, this is the exact same furniture that sells for 3% less. Do you want this furniture? If so, order from me. If you want to burn your money and NOT HAVE THIS FURNITURE, order from them."
