Conducting a little bit of an experiment with this discussion... when you hear the term "finesse" (typically in a derogatory manner), which teams from across the decades spring to mind?

The 2011 Packers that went 15-1 then got bounced in the playoffs. Very highly skilled but didn't stand up under pressure. That whole year was pretty bad, including the worst Super Bowl I've ever seen.

I mean at least it was a close game. You can do less than 38 points - try 13-3 Pats Rams, where neither QB threw for a TD and it was 3-3 heading into the 4th - or you could have your super bowl be a 35 point blowout win for one team like SEA/DEN.

The quality of the play was bad. I actually liked the Pats-Rams super bowl lol. And yeah, the LoB blowout was super boring.

Pick any of Dan Marino’s Dolphins or any of Dan Fouts’ Chargers from back in the day

My 1988 high school team was pure finesse. Got out-handled, gunned, hit, tackled, runned but not out-finessed.

Unfortunately my 2013 Broncos, best offense in history.. Until that Super Bowl

Dolphins with Marino. Bills with Kelly. Oilers with Moon. Rams with Warner. Colts with Manning. Patriots with Brady in 07-11. Chiefs with Mahomes.

Marino’s Dolphins, for sure. Not to say that they didn’t field some tough teams, but they were running when other teams were crawling in the passing game.

Dude dropped 5k and 48 TDs in 1984 with the big boy rules. He had 100 fewer attempts than Peyton had in his record-setting season.

1992 Oilers

Greatest Show on Turf, Manning Colts and Broncos teams, Brees/Payton Saints teams, couple of McVay’s Rams teams, Mahomes/Hill Chiefs teams, current Dolphins team, and I would also say the 08 Patriots

Peyton Colts in the early years. They finally found a defense and run game when they won the superbowl

98 Vikings.
99 Rams.
Manning Era Colts.
Fouts Era Chargers.
