Mix quality should be discussed more in this hobby HD600 performs really well with old recording.

Yup, that's what the HD600 is made for, old music.
I mean my stereo attached to my computer is my best "audio device" but this is the wrong subreddit for that. So I have a Schiit Jotunheim running my ZMF Auteurs and with EQ it is pretty much jaw dropping and I love it. They are what I use for gaming, and they're ok for that, but then I run them with only a bass shelf. For music I run a modified auto eq in Peace and yeah, for that they're unbelievably good. I don't listen to them during the day because I can just have my stereo on most of the time, or I'm moving around and have my Sony earbuds in. I'm still on the fence about my IEMs, they have a much cleaner sound than the buds, but I may have got the wrong IEMs for my music tastes, which are bass heavy. We'll see if they stick around.
Music-wise a little of everything, but heavier into rap, hip-hop, some electronic, and a lot of poppier things.
Hifiman Sundara, with smsl sp200 thx amp, listen to Metal, all subgenres
Second, Samsung galaxy buds pro 2
My Fostex X00 for electronic music with a big beat. Nothing beats that biodynamic bass, if you know you know.
My Hifiman sundaras are my favorite over ears for sure, my Hifiman RE2000 iems are my favorite iems (or "headphones" in general for that matter) I've ever owned though. They're good with any genre of music and the tuning is perfect for my ears. They're very warm yet still analytical and detailed.
Meze Empyrean - Classic Rock/Alternative Rock/Pop
The most comfortable headphone out there with authoritative bass, big soundstage and an incredibly smooth tonality. IMO the perfect daily driver.
Stax L700 Mk2 - Classical/Acoustic/Vocals/Classic Rock
The best sounding headphone I have ever heard. Such an effortless and ethereal presentation. Extremely detailed with a massive soundstage all while keeping intimate vocals.
I like having one good all rounder for every kind of genre.
The best overall, bar none, for me is a four-way tie between the original ZMF Auteur, LCD X (2021 revision,) Aurorus Audio Borealis, and the Focal Clear. Three out of four of those I can't wear for very long because of a neck thing, and the Borealis always had issues fitting on my head correctly. I'd listen to mostly rock and metal with them.
For gaming, it was the HD800 SDR.
Now I have a HE1000 Stealth, which tries its best to do music and gaming well.
I really enjoyed the blon blo3 or what ever there called for heavy metal.
Currently I'm using the Hifiman Arya Organic and enjoying it a lot. Mainly listening to video game soundtrack, anime soundtrack, classical music, JPop, and a little jazz.
For PC gaming I use Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X
For portability, Moondrop Variations.
Beyersdynamic's dt 900 pro x: PC gaming
Sennheiser HD 600: Everything else PC
IEM on the go: Moondrop B2 Dusk. These recently broke. Something came loose in left IEM. I went back to my Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and they were so frickin bad I went on Amazon and ordered Moondrop Chu ii for like $20 and they're better than my Buds 2 Pro. Just waiting on RMA for B2 Dusk.
My monarch MK3s are the bees knees, I mainly listen to hard rock but have been dabbling in hip-hop & rap. They sound fucking phenomenal
out of all my headphones, the one that makes me happiest is Modhouse Argon (T60rp) with suede Xenon pads.
i listen to all different genres, but i guess the most frequently listened are electronic, hiphop, jazz, metal (sludge/doom/drone), classical (for lack of a better term), pop, film scores(60's-80's)
My hd650 is actually the best headphone for black metal. The sound and the veil are perfect
Just adding to the numerous mentions of Sundara, which are my current cans (I have an upgrade on the way for xmas though). Have loved them for 3 years, they've been built like a tank and pulled onto the hard floor by the cables by the dog running past half a dozen times, I listen to many genres but mostly synthwave/darkwave/electronic/metal/power metal/melodic metal/rock/post-rock/dark rock/punk/synthpunk/indie (yeah I know vaguest genre in the world can mean anything), no EQ, there is nothing they can't do imo
iem - unique melody mest mk2
hp - focal clear og, sundara closed
mostly metal, some edm.
Hd600 and hd660s for Lo-Fi pop and general EDM. 600 for vocals and 660s for details :)
Fidelio X1 for everything especially gaming rock and EDM. Sometimes I pull out the 58x or 560S to mix things up, usually over it after a few hours though.
I used to use Grado GW100 daily but now I feel enough with my Truthear Hexa for listening to music (mostly Grunge and J-Rock) and monitoring my guitar
HD 800S. JPop.
Monarch mk2.
I sold almost everything else because of this iem. Coz its so good that I dont feel like i want to use anything else, and i have tried and own some other iems that cost 2-3 times the price.
I mainly listen to pop, jazz, classical.
Metalcore, post hardcore, metal, hard rock, rock.
FHE:Eclipse
Even though I usually use headphones, I think the Monarch Mk III is the most capable device I’ve ever used. It’s tuned incredibly out of the box, and you can easily EQ it to anything you like with the wide array of driver capabilities. For over the ears, probably the Expanse coming in close second.
My MM500 for basically every genre. They are the perfect all rounders.
And then maybe also gonna get some 109 Pro for Jazz and Black Metal, more specifically
I mostly listen to Asian vocals.
Best headphones are the Hifiman Susvaras driven by the Benchmark HPA4 or the Holo Bliss
Best iem is the Sony JustEars driven by a Cayin n6ii with the r2r module
