A place to share alternatives to popular online services that can be self-hosted without giving up privacy or locking you into a service you don't control.

Rules:

  1. Be civil: we're here to support and learn from one another. Insults won't be tolerated. Flame wars are frowned upon.

  2. No spam posting.

  3. Posts have to be centered around self-hosting. There are other communities for discussing hardware or home computing. If it's not obvious why your post topic revolves around selfhosting, please include details to make it clear.

  4. Don't duplicate the full text of your blog or github here. Just post the link for folks to click.

  5. Submission headline should match the article title (don’t cherry-pick information from the title to fit your agenda).

  6. No trolling.

Thx, but I'll stay with alternativeto.net. At least that one is not an ad in a trenchcoat.

Thanks for pointing this out. Its been a while since I've been to alternativeto.net and thought that's what OP was linking to, even visiting the site I just figured 'oh they did a redesign since last time I was here' totally didn't dawn on me it was a completely difference site.

This website is filled with AI slop just use alternativeto.net what is wrong with them, they also have a great news page for projects on there

This list is terrible. These are all "Ai-powered" apps that have mostly better and established alternatives.

Great timing! I've been meaning to search for a open source alternative to jira: https://openalternative.co/?sort=pageviews.desc&q=jira

Thanks!

Planka is a good option, altough its more like an alternative to Trello. You should check it out and see if it works for your use case
