I mean it makes sense to me, but the timing is awkward. Maybe if it was like a pre-season thing? Idk, it’s cool but awkward to me still.
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
That could work also. Open the season up with a Cup.
All of them complaining about players making an effort to the end instead of benchwarmers dribbling out the clock…. WHY WE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS?
Personally I think it's just a dumb marketing thing and I don't find it interesting or exciting.
They are immature in the sense that they want to act like the cool kids who think it's "lame" to know shit. It's also pure laziness and a form of protest because they think the NBA should be exactly the way it was when they played.
I can't wait in a year or two when this performative "NBA cup is confusing/pointless/lame" shit will likely not exist because a critical mass of people like it (I hope that's the case anyway).
Oh, it should also in the future be called the "NBA cup" kind of like the FA Cup in English football instead of "in-season tournament" or "Doritos tournament".
I’m afraid that they’re going to give it a sponsor name like Doritos, based on the current promo using the Sopranos actor.
It’s very gimmicky, and it doesn’t need to be. They could’ve started it off with some history and slap David Stern’s name on the trophy.
Marketing people really believe Americans to be idiots and it’s annoying.
