I’m an author and used the Freewrite Traveler for distraction-free, easily portable drafting. My Traveler unfortunately had a recurring key issue after 2.5 years and essentially stopped working; I’m considering replacing it with the Remarkable 2 + Type Folio. Curious how other writers who have used both devices feel about them? Thanks in advance!

I write a little on it, though I wouldn't call myself a writer.

The biggest thing I miss is a word count, other than that, I think it's close to perfect. The keyboard is very comfortable, and being able to mark things with a pen when reading what I wrote is great.

Great to know! Thank you! I would miss word count too but if that’s the only thing wrong, sounds pretty great!

i specifically got the type folio instead of the freewrite line. i can write notes on top of my drafts if need be. it is a btter modern typewriter. also the weirdness of the formatting on freewrite devices (from what i ave heard anyway) really turned me off that route.

Thanks! Yes, being able to annotate drafts seems amazing!
