Giddey and our lack of size holding him back so badly

So impressed with him. He’s like a secret weapon per minute…maybe he should play more minutes? With him and Chet absent from the floor the wolves dug out of a deficit and secured the game.
Currently 29th in the league in minutes, no injuries… secure those wins where you only lose by a bucket
MVP free throw merchant. Surprised people are so high on him when every other top player isn't anointed until they have playoff success
List of Timberwolves players who had as many or more FTA's than Shai last night: Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, Karl Anthony Towns (8), and Troy Brown Jr.
He's one of my favorite non Wolves players. I do wish he would dial back the flopping though, I was pretty disgusted with him flopping his head back to make it look like there was contact when no one touched him last night so he could get to the line for 2 easy points. He doesn't need to do that he is a fantastic shooter and driver, earn the points with his talent.

interesting that he jumped embiid after embiid's great games against the thunder and lakers, i had checked right before the thunder game and it was Jokic-Embiid-SGA (all very close)
It's because it's a forward looking projection system with seasonality that's supposed to determine the value a player gives on a neutral court NEXT game. So if this number of games into a season Embiids value as determined by the algorithm (its a black box btw, unlike BPM where we know how it's calculated) drops a little bit it'll be reflected into his EPM. Or if the algorithm thinks that Embiids value dips after a few good games his EPM could go down because he had good games. Or the opposite could happen with SGAs.
The creator said it takes into account both of these things on a podcast. Which makes sense as DARKO is meant to be a fantasy projection system for betting. However the creator has stated he has never been able to make money with it. He states the reason why despite it working with backtesting is that line movements aren't figured in.
TLDR should never be used to determine who has had the better season so far, since it isn't designed to answer that question. However on here it's what it is used most often for.
Usually I don’t give much weight to one catch-all metric. But top 4 are pretty much consensus in multiple major catch-all metrics this season. 1. Jokic 2. Embiid, 3. Shai, 4. Haliburton. You can bet money on Jokic and Embiid being able to keep this up but it’s gonna be interesting how Shai and Hali hold up down the road.
