This is the other American dream that more and more people are talking about.

For me, my main goal for leaving the US to save money. I was already saving money while living in one of the most expensive cities in America. My goal is to double my savings.

My current rent is less that $1k and food cost 20% cheaper.

Leaving the US is the most rational decision anyone with an remote income can make. The place is just awful all-around. From the horrible health care, to the crime, to the homelessness and drugs in the cities to the insanely high cost of living, reliance on cars, political madness on all sides etc.

The dream is an American salary outside of the US. I wouldn't want to live in Thailand on a Thai salary. I wouldn't want to live in the US on a US salary either. But Thailand on a US salary? It feels like cheating
