I am already "100% remote" and work in tech at 6 figures, but according to my employer, I cannot internationally telecommute even though they have a worldwide presence, and I always see at least 3 of their buildings whenever I am abroad.

My dream is to live in a different country for 1 to 3 months and work remotely. Whenever I ask about this in job interviews, it gets shut down. I am even willing to take a 20k pay cut in exchange for this lifestyle.

Any companies, job/career recommendations or success stories navigating this on a long term basis?

Have you considered freelancing? I don’t work in tech so idk how the salary would compare but it’s generally very compatible with traveling and there are definitely projects in tech you can work on.
