She should be just like my mother's boyfriend, whose personal business got annihilated by Fidesz'es new tax policy on small businesses. He's now working overtime for a company for much less, and is also actively campaigning for Fidesz, because he hates seeing black people on Netflix so much.

Totally her fault for not buying stock and instead decide to have kids she could not afford. But really her husband should be to blame for not making more money. Could he not get a job at ICE? /s

Next orange dementia grandpa will say democracy is a democratic hoax.

[–] dermanus@lemmy.ca 3 points 4 hours ago

I mean, it's right there in the name! Only Demon-crats support democracy! /s

I just want people to be honest and admit they made a mistake, take accountability, and work on fixing themselves.

I refuse to coddle these people who will not learn. You can't keep hitting yourself in the head with a hammer and blame others.

Vote for a black woman? Hell no.

[–] Rakudjo@lemmy.world 11 points 11 hours ago

So she'll vote Rep a 4th time because something something illegals, abortions, lgbtq...

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

And will tell poor people that "hard work let former line workers like Elon Musk become CEOs". (Context: when capitalism came to Hungary, western corporations actively disencouraged self-employment and small businesses, claiming that regular workers at them can be promoted for hard work, and the hardest worker can even become the CEO, also our tax system is set up to screw over self employers and small businesses more, while Chinese battery factories get no taxes.)

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 11 hours ago

or "im not one of those illegals, or [inser skin color, poc, or lgbtq+] people."

[–] scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech 11 points 14 hours ago

Maybe the fifth time she'll be able to buy food. Or the 6th

Okay but fuck the Lincoln project.

Republicans who supported the modern conservative movement for decades pretending they are part of the resistance, who'll supported practically all the same shit, just under a more neoliberal/neoconservative hat.

Thank you! Far too many people fail to realize these people when MAGA is gone will still be reprehensible Republicans. They supported and worked for W Bush after all. They're not our friends and I'd just be as happy to see both put into a pit with one spork. Then whoever survives gets eaten by lions.

And they apparently are willing to give blue check money to Nazis.

[–] baggachipz@sh.itjust.works 30 points 1 day ago (1 children)

She should just choose not to be poor

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 11 hours ago

or she can try not being poor, like trump said.

[–] AbsolutelyNotAVelociraptor@sh.itjust.works 57 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

She's just a liar. Mr President Trump The GREATESTEST has said that economy is A+++++ so she's lying. She must be a democRAT, I mean, have you seen her color? She's clearly not a republican, she's not white enough.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 47 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Someone is having the day they're voted for. How delightful.

Except we all sufer

[–] popekingjoe@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

She should also make sure she's wearing jeans.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

To be fair, even if the Democrats get power back, it's never going to get better. The system is designed only to get worse. We have to tear down everything and start from scratch for anything to get better.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (1 children)

the gop made sure the recent legislation is worst when the dems get back in power, rinse and repeat. republicans have to be continiously be in power while thier legislation is still in effect so they can finally get the blame they deserve,.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Can you reword that in English?

[–] smh@slrpnk.net 2 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago) (1 children)

My reading: new legislation that will kick the voter in the metaphorical balls will go into effect after the next election, when presumedly the Democrats will be in charge. Voters will be kicked in the balls and blame the party in charge for their pain. This is despite the Republicans being the ones who passed the ball-kicking legislation.

Edit: and the only way the Republicans will be blamed is if they are still in power when the ball kicking occurs.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Thank you. Yeah, legislation like that can be easily be stopped. Proof: Trump's already done it, i.e. the inflation reduction act. Just undo it and call it what it is, an unjust act on the citizens, by an illegitimate administration.
