Trump literally just ignored the Supreme fucking Court in regards to his dumbass tariffs, and this writer is STILL making the assumption that the opinions of the courts will mean jack shit. The courts aren’t saving us - get that through your fucking heads. Seriously.
Its more that states have executive power to disobey here, and can expect to be backed up by the courts if they do so
All the Republican controlled states will comply and they'll more than likely be able to retain the house because of it which is what it's all about :(
Courts have no power. No muscle.
I think the tariff situation is more subtle than you are letting on. Basically, Trump is now on the clock were previously he wasn't. He will now be forced to go to congress to ratify this increase.
Who is going to force him to go to Congress?
You said he just ignored the supreme court and that's not what happened.
Why are there still fucking tariffs, slick?
They struck down his reasoning for imposing some tariffs, not his ability to impose tariffs granted by other laws or decisions.
That would sound way cooler if you weren't so uninformed. Honestly, it still sounded pretty cool ngl.
Federal courts yes, but state courts not necessarily. Trump's favorite tactic has been to run out the clock with constant appeals and lawsuits. Now state courts can use that trick against him. Fight everything he does tooth and nail in the state courts where he doesn't have the judges in his pocket. Sure the Supreme Court will overturn most unfavorable decisions, but that takes time for appeals to get that far.
