For those that can relate:

How do you cope?

As for me:

I either go to bed crazy early - around 7 PM when the anxiety is at its worst - taking a sleeping pill, hoping I don't wake up until morning comes OR I eat until I hate myself.

This is more commonly known as the Sunday scaries

I can relate, but I call it the Sunday depression. Most of what's difficult about the transition between doing the things I want (or not) and doing the things I'm told to do. Also, picking up all the problems that I left behind when I left work on Friday.

How do I cope? Mostly just suck it up. Sometimes, I'll email myself reminders or thoughts so that I don't carry them around all weekend. Sometimes, I pre-make a bunch of food so that I can roll out of bed and walk out the door. Sometimes, I do have things to look forward to, like lunch with a coworker or something.

What specifically about work are you anxious about? What kind of work do you do?

I'm not anxious about work. I should've been more clear. What's unreasonably hard is the transition from a day off to a workday.

I work as a parole officer with the extra task of writing pre sentencing reports to courts in which I state my professional opinion on whether the defendant should be eligible for time served/probation.

If it's not the work itself causing anxiety, then what is it about the transition that does?
